He is also an experienced angel investor, having analyzed hundreds of companies' pitch decks and financials.
Phil, a Professional Engineer, is well-educated, with a B.Sc. in Engineering, and extensive post-graduate training in business, finance, and human resources. He is certified as a Certified Franchise Consultant, a Certified ValueBuilder System advisor, and a Business Coach. He has served on more than 15 boards as a director and/or board chair, including organizations such as DeVry Canada, AICML, and Easter Seals (BC & Yukon).
Phil specializes in helping business owners set their businesses up for exit by improving their valuations and making them more attractive to potential buyers. As well he improving marketing and sales processes and provides coaching them to increase revenue and profits. He is a 4-time published author, accomplished business writer, and has delivered many presentations on various topics to both in-person and virtual audiences.
Phil has offices in Victoria, BC, and Calgary, Alberta, and enjoys traveling, reading, investing, and golf. He is married with two adult children.
